Elder Law Attorney Brian Andrew Tully, Esq. of the firm Tully Law, P.C. has announced the launch of a new website, MyElderScore.com. It is a tool which provides senior citizens and their caregivers objective information on how they can prepare for the transitions associated with aging and can determine how much preparation, if any, they need.

The website focuses on five major areas of aging: Health, Wellness, Financial, Legal and Spiritual. Each section has a group of questions in which the visitor can answer “Yes,” “No” or “Unsure.” Once the questions have been answered, the respondent’s ElderScore results can be emailed or printed out and can be compared to other seniors in their own state and nationally. The score will determine how prepared they are and which aspects of aging they need to improve upon. Seniors should then address the issues raised and update their answers in order to improve their ElderScore.

In addition to providing scores, MyElderScore.com also provides monthly tips and news items to help keep seniors and their caregivers informed and help them on their journey.

According to the National Family Caregivers Association, over 90 percent of self-described family caregivers become more proactive about seeking resources and skills they need to assist those they care for. More than half of care recipients live in their own home while 29 percent live with their family caregiver and 4 percent live in a nursing home.

“While seniors may take the test again to improve their ElderScore on their own or with our own recommended Advisors, it is recommended that they seek competent guidance, as these are very important matters,” says Mr. Tully, President and Founder of MyElderScore.com. “You will certainly find yourself or your loved one more prepared for the transitions associated with aging if you undertake these recommended steps to improve your ElderScore.”

A member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and New York State Bar Associations, Mr. Tully is certified as an elder law attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation and focuses his law practice on life care planning, elder law, estate planning, Medicaid benefits and asset protection. In both 2011 and 2012, Mr. Tully was named a New York Metro Super Lawyer.

In 2004, he founded the ElderCare Resource Center, Inc., whose mission is to be the community resource for support, answers and expertise in regard to advance planning and informed decision making about present and future long-term healthcare. The Suffolk Nassau Regional Business Partnership voted the ElderCare Resource Center as Educational Business of the Year in 2005.
