Shanthy Hughes, LMSW, is an Elder Care Coordinator at Tully Law Group, where her compassion, understanding, and persistence are the cornerstones of her advocacy for clients. She earned her BA in Psychology from SUNY at Oswego and completed her Master of Social Work at Hunter College School of Social Work.
Shanthy is committed to educating and guiding clients through the intricate Medicaid process. She ensures that her clients understand their options and feel empowered, knowing she advocates for their best interests. Finding the proper care fit and exploring placement alternatives are vital aspects of her work, alleviating the often overwhelming task that families face when making these decisions.
Her dedication and expertise have not gone unnoticed. Shanthy was honored with the Gold Star Award from the Hospital for Special Surgery for her sustained contributions to the Lupus Community. Recently, Shanthy was recognized by the Make-A-Wish Foundation for her work as an Intake Volunteer.
Before joining Tully Law Group in September 2023, Shanthy gained valuable experience as a Social Worker at a skilled nursing facility, specializing in sub-acute care, and worked for a local library in the Health and Safety Department, supporting its employees.
As a member of the National Association of Social Workers and a Make-A-Wish mom, Shanthy actively gives back to the community. She volunteers with Make-A-Wish to support other families with critically ill children, exemplifying her dedication to helping those in need. Shanthy's personal and professional history makes her a valuable asset to the firm and a trusted advocate for clients seeking elder care solutions.
