Dana J. Marcinka, LMSW, CDP, is the Elder Care Coordinator at Tully Law, P.C. Dana specializes in assisting older people and their families to attain the highest quality of life given their circumstances. She specifically helps the firm’s Life Care Planning clients and their families identify care problems and assist in solving them by identifying and arranging in-home help or other services, coordinating with medical and health providers, reviewing medical issues and offering referrals to other geriatric specialists to provide appropriate care while conserving financial resources.
Mrs. Marcinka’s social work career has always been centered on the elderly population. Her professional mission focuses on preserving the rights and advocating for the protection of the elderly and their loved ones. Dana believes in using empathy, advocacy and active communication to accomplish these stated goals for our clients.
Dana completed her undergraduate studies in psychology at Hofstra University and her masters in social work at Stony Brook University. Mrs. Marcinka served as a Long Term Care Ombudsman for the local Family Service League where she helped identify, investigate, and resolve the problems and complaints of the long-term and short-term care residents of nursing homes, assisted livings and adult homes. Additionally, Dana has experience helping families with safe discharges to both facilities and home as well as with initial screenings, bio-psychosocial assessments and the facilitation of support groups. Dana has worked with a diverse geriatric population, providing health care resources, coordination and advocacy.
Dana, through her experience and caring support, is an essential part of the Tully Elder Law Life Care Planning Team. She will be there to assist both our clients and their caregivers as they navigate the difficult legal, medical and residential placement decisions that our elderly population faces.
